Looking forward to Round 2
So if any of you read our last post (IVF and Covid19) you will know that our first cycle failed. It is now nearly 3 months later, lockdown is easing and the new normal is coming about. We are saving hard for round 2 and hoping to start Sept/Oct this year.
There are a few things I want to do differently this time. Our clinic is introducing menopur this round as well as gonal f - another jab every day, by this stage it doesn't bother me at all but I have heard menopur is a stingy one! With my clinics advise I am taking 300mg of coq10 in ubiquinol form, there is a lot of information to suggest this is good for egg quality. I am also taking vitamin D and pregnancare pre conception supplements. If any of you know of anything else please drop me a line!
Supplements aside, I need to start eating better, my acupuncturist recommends red fruits and green vegetables so lots of smoothies for me! Upping my water intake, no alcohol and definitely reducing my plastic/chemical use - I'm restricting my use of heavily chemical based cleaning products, less perfumed products, I have a organic shampoo bar on order and have replaced my wax melts for essential oils.
I'm trying not to get too bogged down in a full lifestyle overhaul, I think trying to be really strict with all of it, such as using plastic, will stress me out if its unavoidable so I am making the changes that I can and trying to remain realistic at the same time.
Obviously I am doing this to improve our egg quality so that the ivf works but if it doesn't I need to be able to say that we have done everything we can so that I don't have the "it's my fault" guilt from our first round. I know that rationally I didn't have all of the knowledge on plastics and supplements etc. but I feel like I should have learnt and I can't have those regrets again.
Round 2 - let's do this!
