Father's Day
I knew you were a brilliant daddy. I'd seen it all before with my now gorgeous step children - in some cases in the toughest of circumstances you've always stepped up. And for as long as you're able and afforded the chance to you do.
I knew you'd be remarkable, I knew from every surgery, from every appointment and from every injection that you already were the best Daddy around. The trauma you went through in our Fertility journey and the simultaneous trauma you supported me through.
I knew while I was pregnant, every time you were a pillar of strength while I freaked out, every time you told me off for interrupting you while you were chatting to our baby via bump, when you could feel her kicking better than I could and every scan when you asked all the things I'd forgotten.
What I didn't know was how much she'd know... from the second she arrived, she knew. She knew she was totally and completely secure in your care. She settles to sleep in your arms knowing you'd move mountains to protect her. She knows when you arrive home and regardless of how awful the day's been she's wriggling to see you. She knows how safe and solid and fun you are and she seeks you out when you'renot here. She saves her best smiles for her best man because you Daddy are her hero and it is a great privilege to watch you two grow 💚
